## Setting Up Facebook Conversion API (CAPI) For Shopify

This guide will walk you through integrating your Kluvos account with the Facebook Conversion API (CAPI) to ensure robust tracking of customer interactions and enhanced data accuracy. Please follow the steps below carefully.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important**

Ensure you have removed Shopify's native Facebook CAPI integration before proceeding with this setup. Having both integrations active simultaneously can cause data duplication and reporting errors. If you haven't, please [remove your Shopify CAPI setup](/kluvos-docs/disable-shopifys-capi.md).
{% endhint %}

### Step 1: Navigate to Events

1. Log in to your Kluvos dashboard.
2. From the main menu, click on **Events**.
3. Select **Meta** from the tabbed options available. Make sure you have already set up a Facebook (Meta) Integration.

### Step 2: Input Your Facebook Pixel ID

1. On the Facebook Conversion API setup page, enter your **Pixel ID**.
2. This Pixel ID can be found in your Facebook Business Manager under the Pixel settings section.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Ensure your **Shopify CAPI Integration is completely disabled**. If not already done, refer to our guide on [How to remove Shopify CAPI integration](/kluvos-docs/disable-shopifys-capi.md).
{% endhint %}

### Step 3: Enable Event Tracking

1. Under **Meta** **Events**, toggle **Enable Meta Events**.

### Step 4: Set Up Customer Event Pixel

1. Create a new event pixel in the **Customer Event Pixel** section within Shopify by clicking **Create Custom Pixel**.

2. A unique snippet of client-side code is provided for you inside of Kluvos. Click the **Custom PIxel Code** button to get your custom pixel code.

3. Copy the provided code snippet and paste it directly inside of the Customer Event Pixel.

<figure><img src="https://2795617557-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FCoU791jIGJslsn4MGsYS%2Fuploads%2F6dSEuvYhdiOcC5US8I76%2Fpaste_pixel.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=b7b342fd-10a6-444d-922e-30fb2d604c2d" alt=""><figcaption><p><em>Paste your custom pixel code here</em></p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
The Customer Event PIxel provides client-side code essential for capturing user interactions and sending them to Facebook.
{% endhint %}

### Retrieving Your Client-Side Code:

1. In the Kluvos dashboard, navigate back to the **Facebook Conversion API** integration page.
2. Scroll down to the **Customer Event Pixel** section.
3. Copy the provided snippet of JavaScript code and paste it into your website’s header or appropriate location in your tag manager.

## What To Expect

{% hint style="info" %}
Extra events Kluvos captures will appear immediately in Facebook's Events Manager, but it will take 7+ days for Facebook to calculate the percentage of additional conversions captured.
{% endhint %}

While our Conversions API integration can improve your event match quality by supplying hashed customer data (like email and phone), the **real impact comes from two key metrics:&#x20;*****Event Coverage*****&#x20;and&#x20;*****Additional Conversions Reported***.

Our setup consistently delivers **90%+ event coverage**, meaning we successfully capture and send the vast majority of your conversion events—far beyond what the pixel alone can do. Combined with rich customer identifiers, this leads to a **dramatic increase in Additional Conversions Reported**: real purchases and actions that were previously invisible are now fully attributed.

You may not see a major jump in your match quality score alone (which only measures how the data is on a given event), but what matters most is that **your ad campaigns now have much more data and more conversions to optimize from**. More events captured. More conversions counted. Better optimization. **This is the data that drives real ROI.**
